Day 01: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park
Arrive Guwahati International from Delhi, or Kolkotta, Met at the airport by
your tour escort. Drive east 220 Kms ( 4.30 hrs) through the tea plantations of
Assam to resort, our hotel beside the world-famous Kaziranga National Park - a
wildlife-rich sanctuary in the riverine Brahmaputra Valley of central Assam.
Time permitting in the afternoon take a short birding walk birding in the the dry scrub on the edge
of the nearby tea estate. Overnight stay at resort.
Days 02 Kaziranga
Early morning Elephant safari in the Central Range of the park. Latter
drive in the Central Range and the Eastern Range of the park. Overnight at
resort.
Day 03: Kaziranga
Full day birding in Panbari Forests for wood land birds, and the
Western Range for Grass land birds. Overnight at resort.
Day 04: Kaziranga
Full day birding in Eastern Range looking for water birds. Overnight at
resort.
Day 05: Kaziranga - Nameri Wild Life
Sanctuary
Drive 80 kms to Nameri Wild life Sanctuary.
Check in at the tented Eco-camp. Afternoon birding around the camp and along the
river. Overnight at the camp.
Day 06: Nameri
Today we will cross the river with a local guide and take a birding walk looking
for White-winged duck, and Ibisbill. Afternoon another birding walk along the
river. Overnight in Eco-camp
Day 07: Nameri –
Manas
Drive 260 Kms in 08 hrs to Mothanguri, inside Manas National Park. Overnight at
Forest Rest House.
Day 08-09-10: Manas
We will spend our three full days in Manas exploring the park as best we can by
jeep, on elephant back, and on foot. We will make daily forays, twice a day
along various routes birding in forests, woodland. Savannah, and grasslands. One
day we will ford the river to take a birding walk on the Bhutan side of the
river. Half day is earmarked for a boat trip down river.
Day 11: Manas – Guwahati
Drive back to Guwahati in 06 hrs. In the evening
visit the Adjutant Stork site. Overnight at hotel
Day 12: Departure
Transfer to airport to board your departure flight. TOUR ENDS.
